Madhya Pradesh's cracker shop fire: Death toll goes up to 8

On April 18, seven persons were burnt to death when the fire broke out at a cracker shop and later spread to nearby establishments in Ranipur area of Indore.

INDORE: The death toll in fire at a cracker shop here has gone up to eight with a 22-year-old man succumbing to his burn injuries this morning.

Dilpreet Narang, the son of the cracker shop owner, had sustained over 50 per cent burn injuries in the mishap. He died this morning while undergoing treatment, said a doctor at the hospital where the victim was admitted.

On April 18, seven persons were burnt to death when the fire broke out at a cracker shop and later spread to nearby establishments in Ranipur area of the city. Dilpreet was the son of Gurvinder Singh Narang, the cracker shop owner who was also charred to death in the fire, a police officer said. The fire had spread across seven shops in the densely populated Ranipura area, besides engulfing 20 two-wheelers. A magisterial inquiry is underway into the mishap, sources said.
