Madhya Pradesh court issues bailable warrant to ex-Union minister for RSS defamation case

Court issued the bailable warrant on Monday in the defamation case against Bhuria, presently the Congress MP from Ratlam-Jhabua Lok Sabha constituency.

BHOPAL: A bailable warrant was issued by a court in Guna district here, against ex-union minister and present Congress MP Kantilal Bhuria for making objectionable statements against the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in August 2013.

The judicial magistrate first class (JMFC) court issued the bailable warrant on Monday in the defamation case against Bhuria, presently the Congress MP from Ratlam-Jhabua Lok Sabha constituency.

The JMFC judge, KK Mishra, ordered the Guna superintendent (SP) to execute the warrant and ensure that the former MP Congress committee chief appears before the court on June 24, 2017, petitioner and BJP leader Manoj Srivastava told the New Indian Express on Tuesday.

In August 2013, while he was the MP state Congress president, Bhuria had reportedly said in Bhopal that RSS activists run away with beautiful tribal girls from every village they set foot in.

"They enter the house on the pretext of having meals, but keep an eye on our girls," the former Union minister had reportedly told a meeting of the Congress's tribal unit in Bhopal.

Bhuria had also listed several instances of rape and molestation allegedly involving RSS men.

A local advocate in Guna district, Manoj Srivastava, who's also a local BJP leader said it amounted to defamation of every RSS man, including him, owing to which he filed a defamation case against Bhuria in August 2013.

In October 2013, the court in Guna, summoned Bhuria to appear in the case but despite several summons to appear in repeated hearings, Bhuria failed to honour the court summons, due to which the JMFC issued the bailable warrant against Bhuria, said Srivastava.
