LUCKNOW: Just two days after winning the first final round of the war of attrition and walking away with party symbol bicycle, Akhilesh Yadav’s arrival as SP national president is here for all to see.

In a first major decision as party chief, Akhilesh revoked the expulsion of all nine youth leaders including MLC Udaiveer Singh on Wednesday evening.

All the nine Akhilesh loyalists from party’s frontal outfits were sacked by Shivpal Yadav, the then state unit chief, after they staged demonstration when the Chief Minister was removed from the post of SP state president owing to the ongoing Yadav family feud in September.

However, Udaiveer had written a letter to then SP president Mulayam Singh Yadav indicating to some party ‘insiders’ who were allegedly conniving against Akhilesh. Taking Udaiveer’s letter with indignation, Mulayam had ordered his dismissal from the party for six years and it was executed by Shivpal. MLC Udaiveer has been a core member of team Akhilesh during the final round of fight for party symbol at EC.

While Shivpal’s axe was fallen on MLCs Anand Bhadauraia, Sunil Sajan and Sanjay Lathar protesting Akhilesh’s removal as state president, Mulayam Singh Youth Brigade national and state president Gaurav Dubey and Mohammad Aibad along with Samajwadi Yuvjan Sabha state chief Brajesh Yadav and Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha chief Digvijay Singh were sacked on charges of indiscipline after they led an agitation demanding Akhilesh's reinstatement as party’s state chief.

This was followed by a mass resignation campaign in which hundreds of office bearers of SP's frontal organisations had relinquished their posts.

Meanwhile, MLC Arvind Yadav, nephew of SP general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav, has also been reinstated with others.

Sharing the decision of the SP president AkhileshYadav with media persons on Wednesday night, party's state unit chief Naresh Uttam said Geeta Singh had been appointed as the state president of SP Mahila Sabha.
