RAIPUR: Barely 20 km from the Education city in the conflict zone of Dantewada district, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with school children two years ago, students and teachers of a school yearn for basic facilities like a blackboard.
The teachers at Pandewar school, some 400 km from Raipur, are left with no choice but to use chalk on a bamboo mat fixed as partition wall of the classroom.
“Since blackboard makes the learning process more cooperative, we have resorted to using the bamboo mat as an alternative,” said a teacher.
Sources said, the ready-made school was constructed by an agency under the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan at a cost of Rs 69 lakh.
