JAIPUR: A Rajasthan MLA today alleged a criminal met Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje at her official residence and was also seen in a photograph with her.

National People's Party chief Kirodi Lal Meena during Zero Hour said: "A hardcore criminal with 28 cases registered against him had entered the official residence of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje to congratulate her on roll back of power tariff hike and was even seen in a photograph with her."

He was referring to criminal Hari Ram Jat who recently threatened the Independent MLA from Khinvsar constituency in Nagaur district of dire consequences.

"A criminal along with his 50 aides entered the chief minister's house. Is not it a failure of the government. Is government protecting such notorious criminals?" he asked.

Interrupting, state Parliamentary Affair Minister Rajendra Rathore said: "Raje is a prominent personality and a public figure. If someone takes a picture with her that does not mean that the government is protecting them."

Meena said the matter concerns the chief minister's security. "How can a criminal enter CM House without security check," he asked.

State Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria said the government is concerned about safety and security of people's representatives.

"Government has always taken prompt action on such matters. Be it security issue raised by MLA Hanuman Beniwal or Manoj Kumar, we asked the authorities concerned to act swiftly.

"In the era of selfies, anyone can click a photograph with public figures. But if any criminal had entered the chief minister's house, then we will get the matter probed," he said.
