MUMBAI: Terming the speculation regarding her joining the NDA government at the Centre as ‘utterly baseless’, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Supriya Sule on Monday put to rest all conjecture in this regard.

“These are utterly baseless rumors. Such rumors are not new. They are being circulated for over three years now. I don’t know who were the people behind such rumors,” Sule said.

The speculation of NCP joining the NDA government had been rumoured for some time. They were renewed after Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) decided to join the NDA. Sule’s statement is the first official denial of such speculation in the recent times.

Sule pointed out the huge response to Lalu Prasad Yadav’s rally in Bihar Sunday and said the anti-Modi front has started taking shape on the national level. She also criticised the Fadnavis government in Maharashtra. “The government is a failure on all counts. There are serious allegations of corruption against three of its ministers. It has lost its right to be in the seat,” Sule said.

Sule also hit out at senior Congress leader and ex-Shiv Sena chief minister Narayan Rane without naming him. “Those who care less for principles won’t be able to bring in any change,” she said.
