CHANDIGARH: A 21-year-old B Tech student was killed and another seriously injured after neighbours attacked them with sharp weapons for playing loud music in Phagwara here on Friday.

The deceased, Ashish Kumar, who hailed from Meghalaya and the injured, Aman Kumar, who hailed from Bihar, were students of Lovely Professional University.

Police said Ashish Kumar, along with six friends, was celebrating the birthday of one of them at his PG accommodation at Udham Singh Nagar in Phagwara on Thursday night.

The neighbours objected to them playing the music loud and demanded they stop it. When the students refused, the neighbours attacked them.
