Land worth Rs 150 crores freed from mafia in Ghaziabad

The Ghaziabad administration today freed five acres of land worth nearly Rs 150 crores from the clutches of the mafia in a village here, officials said.

GHAZIABAD: The Ghaziabad administration today freed five acres of land worth nearly Rs 150 crores from the clutches of the mafia in a village here, officials said.

District Magistrate Ritu Maheshwari said the land, belonging to the Land Management Committee (LMC) and the Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam, was freed during an 'anti-land mafia' drive launched in Akbarbar Bahrampur village here.

A team of district administration and nagar nigam officials headed by sub-divisional magistrate Prem Ranjan Singh freed the land from the clutches of mafia with the help of the police.

A total of 72 FIRs have been lodged against land grabbers till today.
