TMC MPs detained as police thwarts march to PM's residence

According to TMC, MPs were taken into custody by police when they were on their way to PM residence at Lok Kalyan Marg.

NEW DELHI: About 30 Trinamool Congress MPs were today detained by police while they were again trying to march to the Prime Minister's residence here to protest the arrest of their party colleagues Sudeep Bandopadhaya and Tapas Paul in the Rose Valley chit fund case.

Accusing the government of indulging in vendetta politics, TMC MPs raised slogans of "Modi hatao, desh bachao" (remove Modi, save country} before they were taken into custody and taken to Mandir Marg police station. TMC MPs had yesterday took out a protest march and were detained at Tughlaq Road police station for about three hours also.

According to TMC, MPs were taken into custody by police when they were on their way to PM residence at Lok Kalyan Marg.
