Poll panel announces schedule for by-polls

As per the schedule, bypolls to Srinagar and Anantnag Lok Sabha seats will be held on April 9 and 12 respectively. Similarly, the assembly bypoll in Radhakrishnan Nagar seat in Tamil.

Election Commission announced schedule for bye-elections for vacancy in Parliamentary constituencies of Kerala and Jammu & Kashmir and state Legislative Assemblies of Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, Delhi and Sikkim. Polling will be held on April 9 and 12 and results will be declared on April 15.

As per the schedule, bypolls to Srinagar and Anantnag Lok Sabha seats will be held on April 9 and 12 respectively. Similarly, the assembly bypoll in Radhakrishnan Nagar seat in Tamil.

Nadu which fell vacant following the demise of then CM J Jayalalithaa will be held on April 12. Malapuram Lok Sabha seat in Kerala fell vacant following the demise of IUML leader E Ahamed and byepolls will be held on April 12.

Assembly seat of Delhi's Rajouri Garden fell vacant after Jarnail Singh of AAP shifted to Punjab for assembly polls held last month. The bye-election for the seat is on April 9. Similarly, Anantnag seat fell vacant in June last after chief minister Mehbooba Mufti won the assembly polls and resigned from the Lok Sabha and the Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency fell vacant as former PDP leader Tariq Hamid Karra resigned in protest against alleged brutalities on Kashmir protesters.
