CHANDIGARH: There was ruckus during question hour in the Haryana Assembly between the legislators of the ruling BJP and Congress on the issue of Yoga Guru Ramdev developing a World Herbal Forest in Morni Hills.

The ruckus, which continued for about half an hour, started after State Tourism Minister Ram Bilas Sharma answered a question asked by BJP MLA from Kalka Latika Sharma over whether there was any proposal to develop Morni area of her constituency into a tourist spot.

To this Health Minister Anil Vij stood up and said that this park is being developed under the guidance and technical support of Patanjali Research Institute, Haridwar.

Immediately, Congress MLA from Palwal Karan Singh Dalal questioned Vij’s locus standi and asked why he was answering the question being answered by Sharma and asked about the cost of  the land in Morni Hills where the park would be developed.

To this Vij replied that  he (Dalal) always stands-up and must have springs fitted to his feet. He added that Ramdev was the brand ambassador of the State and the government was developing the park under his guidance.

Dalal alleged that as Health Minister Vij was promoting inferior quality drugs manufactured by Ramdev. A Congress member quipped, “Seth Ramdev Kaho (Call him Seth Ramdev).”

Congress and BJP MLAs started shouting at each other. Further putting fuel to the fire minister Manish
Grover said, "Take them out of the House by holding them by their ear.” Congress MLAs went to the speaker and demanded an apology from the minister. BJP members said Congress MLA Kuldeep Sharma had used similar words for Vij in the House, but Sharma said he had already apologised.

During the pandemonium in the House the MLAs of Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) sat quietly watching the BJP and the Congress members in a spat.
