Aged woman suspected of witchcraft murdered by neighbour in act of revenge

Primary investigations revealed that Raikwar's aunt died a year ago due to a prolonged illness, but he suspected that Ulfat Bi was responsible for it.

BHOPAL: A man hacked his elderly neighbour to death in her sleep on late Sunday night, suspecting that she practised witchcraft, in Silwani of Raisen district at Madhya Pradesh. She was murdered in the presence of her daughter-in-law who reported the incident.

Ulfat Bi (65) was hacked to death with a pick axe by Mansingh Raikwar.

According to sub divisional officer police Babita Bamania, the accused has been detained for questioning. 

Primary investigations revealed that Raikwar's aunt died a year ago due to a prolonged illness, but he suspected that Ulfat Bi was responsible for it.

The murder was committed to avenge his aunt's death.
