BHOPAL: The stage is set for the three-day national executive of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) starting at the sprawling Sharda Vihar educational complex on the outskirts of Bhopal from October 12.

The entire top brass, including RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Sarakaryavaha (general secretary) Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi, the four sahasarkaryavaha (joint general secretaries) Suresh Soni, Dr Krishna Gopal, Dattatreya Hosabole and V Bhagaiahhave already arrived for the Deepawali Baithak, which will draw the Sangh's roadmap for the next six months, said RSS Madhya Bharat Prachar Pramukh (publicity in-charge) Deepak Sharma Monday.

"Every year there are two national executives of the RSS, one around Holi in March and the other before Deepawali in October. The second national executive of the year takes stock of the organisational works over the last six months and draws the roadmap for the next six months," said Sharma.

The three-day meet, which is likely to be attended by 300 delegates, including heads and deputies of 42 RSS prants (provinces) in India and Nepal, however, will not be attended by any senior BJP leader, as the BJP national president has already attended a meet of the RSS to review the performance of associated outfits in Vrindawan in September.

Prior to the actual three-day meeting to be held at the auditorium of the Saraswati Vidya Mandir Higher Secondary residential school, a series of meetings to be attended by top brass of different regions of the country over the next two days will work for finalising the agenda for the meet.

While maintaining that the agenda of the meet will include all burning national issues, Sharma stopped short of explaining more.

Besides, the national executive meet to be organised on a stage built from eco-friendly products, including cow dung, an exhibition vividly depicting the life of Tenth Sikh Guru Gobind Singh, RSS founder Dr KB Hedgewar, Sister Nivedita and Kushok Bakula Rinpoche will also be organised on the sidelines of the meet.

While senior BJP leaders are likely to not attend the meet, unconfirmed sources said former Union minister and veteran BJP MP from Kanpur Murli Manohar Joshi met the RSS chief in Bhopal Sunday. Union minister and former MP chief minister Uma Bharti and VHP leader Dr Pravin Togadia might also meet the Sarsanghchalak soon.

A massive security cover has been thrown around the Sharda Vihar Educational Complex to ensure fool-proof security for the key meet.
