Train service suspended in south Kashmir for security reasons

SRINAGAR: Train service was suspended for security reasons on Sunday in south Kashmir, where three militants of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) were killed in an encounter by security forces at Laroo in Kulgam.

Six civilians were also killed and several others injured, when an un-exploded shell went off near the site, where large number of people had gathered after the encounter.

However, train service between Srinagar-Badgam and Baramulla in north Kashmir was running as per schedule normally.

Train service was suspended between Badgam-Srinagar-Anantnag-Qazigund in south Kashmir to Banihal in Jammu region for security reasons.

It will remain suspended for security reasons on Monday also, when separatists have called for a general strike against the Kulgam killings.
