LUCKNOW: A CBI court on Saturday remanded Rotomac Global promoter-director Vikram Kothari and his son Rahul in CBI custody for 11 days for further interrogation in connection with the alleged `3,695 crore wilful loan default case.The remand period will be deemed having commenced on February 24 and will end on March 7, 2018. The CBI had produced the duo in the court after bringing them here on a transit remand.

The CBI judge, M P Chaudhari, took them into judicial custody and later remanded them in CBI custody following a plea by the country’s premier investigation agency. Both the accused have been charged with cheating a consortium of seven nationalised banks, and Vikram Kothari’s wife Sadhna has also been made an accused in the case.

Bank of Baroda had lodge an FIR in the case on February 18, 2018 and the case was handed over to the probe agency.The CBI’s deputy SP, G M Rathi, had moved an application seeking 14-day custody of the accused for interrogation in order to extract information about the involvement of others in the fraud.
