BJP demands FIR in allegations of sexual exploitation in Congress social media team

BJP asked the Opposition party to respond on cases of exploitation within the party.

NEW DELHI: The BJP on Tuesday demanded that police filed an FIR on the allegations of sexual harassment by a woman who had worked in the social media team of the Congress.

The BJP, while hitting out at the Congress president Rahul Gandhi for sharing a perception survey showing India as a country of high sexual incidents, asked the Opposition party to respond on cases of exploitation within the party.

The BJP’s Lok Sabha MP Meenakshi Lekhi listed the harassment of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the sister of the Congress president, during a protest demonstration at India Gate against Kathua rape case. The BJP MP stated that a former Congress woman leader who had been working in the social media team has alleged of sexual exploitations. “We call upon the Delhi police to register an FIR on the basis of the complaint and take actions against the culprit,” Lekhi added.

The BJP leader dismissed the report by Reuters as fake, saying that it been done with vested interests to damage India’s prestige in the international arena.
