Health employees in Maharashtra to be suspended if not found on seats

The public health department of the Maharashtra government has decided to act tough against erring employees who are not found in place during their duty hours without any valid reasons.

MUMBAI: The public health department of the Maharashtra government has decided to act tough against erring employees who are not found in place during their duty hours without any valid reasons.

Such employees would be suspended henceforth a government resolution (GR) from the department on Thursday has said.

"In past few days it has come to the notice that the officers leave their place of duty without informing the superiors. Many a times such employees are absent even while ministers are conducting meetings. They have also been found to have proceeded to official tours in such manner. Increasing number of such incidents has compelled the administration to take such a decision," the GR has said.

With this decision, such erring employees would be suspended within a month of such an incident.
