Six senior IPS officers transferred with immediate effect in Bengal

Bastab Baidya currently posted at Medinipur has been asked to move to Murshidabad, Commissioner of Police, Howrah, Devendra Prakash Singh has been directed to shift to Medinipur.

KOLKATA: As many as six senior IPS officials in the rank of the DIG, have been reshuffled with immediate effect, according to a notification issued by the IGP, Personnel HK Kusumakar, West Bengal.

While Bastab Baidya currently posted at Medinipur has been asked to move to Murshidabad, Commissioner of Police, Howrah, Devendra Prakash Singh has been directed to shift to Medinipur.

DIG of Presidency Range Bharat Lal Meena has been transferred to Siliguri as the Commissioner of Police in the same rank as the DIG, and Deputy Director of Economic Offences Tanmoy Ray Chaudhary has been asked to move to Howrah as the CP with additional responsibility to look after Howrah rural.

DIG Murshidabad range Pranab Kumar was transferred to CID, West Bengal in the same rank, and CP Siliguri Sunil Kumar Choudhary was asked to move DIG Presidency with immediate effect.

DIG Presidency Range will also look after Baruipur, Diamond Harbour and Sundarbans police districts under South 24 Parganas and Barasat and Basirhat police districts under North 24 Parganas.

IGP Burdwan Range Subrata Kumar Mitra has been asked to take additional charge (supervise) Hooghly (rural) in addition to Purba Burdwan and Birbhum districts.
