BHOPAL:  Stand-up comedians Kunal Kamra and Munawar Faruqui have been invited by Congress’s Rajya Sabha member and former Madhya Pradesh CM Digvijaya Singh to hold programmes in Bhopal.
The two were recently denied permission to hold shows in Bengaluru. Faruqui was not allowed amid protests by right wing Hindu groups. Kamra’s show was cancelled following threats to the organisers.

“I will organise a show for Kunal and Munawar in Bhopal. All responsibility will be mine. Only condition is that the subject of comedy will be Digvijaya Singh. Sanghis (RSS cadre) should not object to this!! Don’t be afraid!! Give the date and time as per your convenience. All your conditions are accepted,” Digvijaya tweeted.

In response, Kamra tweeted, “Sir thank you for the kind invitation. Checking if we have life insurance and getting back to you ASAP.” Reacting to Singh’s invite to the two stand-up comedians, ruling BJP MLA from Huzur (Bhopal) and former Pro Tem Speaker of Vidhan Sabha, Rameshwar Sharma said they won’t be allowed to perform in the MP capital.
