KOZHIKODE: A Dubai-bound Air India Express flight (IX345) had to make an emergency landing at the Calicut airport (Karipur) shortly after takeoff on Friday due to a technical snag.

The pilot of the flight, which departed at 8.15 am and was scheduled to land in Dubai at 11.05 am, found issues with the landing gear. The crew promptly alerted the airport authorities, which swung into action. Fire and rescue services teams were deployed at the runway.

Despite the snag, the aircraft landed safely with all passengers and crew members unharmed. The flight later resumed its journey and landed in Dubai.

“Safety of the passengers and crew is always top priority in such events. As soon as the officials received the alert from the flight crew, they activated the emergency response protocol. Fire and rescue services teams were deployed within minutes, and all necessary precautions were taken to ensure a safe landing,” the airport authorities said.
