Odisha: Miscreants loot Rs 9.2L from BOI in Cuttack

Unidentified miscreants looted Rs 9.2 lakh from Bank of India (BOI), Nayasarak branch, here on Tuesday noon.

CUTTACK:Unidentified miscreants looted Rs 9.2 lakh from Bank of India (BOI), Nayasarak branch, here on Tuesday noon. According to the FIR filed by Chief Manager of the branch, Prafulla Kumar Patnaik, the loot took place between 12 and 12.15 pm when the cashier had kept the money on the side of his table. During this time, two persons came to his counter and one of them diverted cashier’s attention while another went behind and took away the money.

Acting on the FIR, police have verified CCTV footage and investigation is on, said ACP PK Rath. Verification of CCTV footage revealed the involvement of a particular four-member gang indulged in looting cash and valuables in such manner. While two of them were standing outside the bank’s branch on the ground floor, the other two went inside, Rath said and added that efforts are on to nab the accused.
