New Delhi, Oct 14 (PTI) Avenue Supermarts, which runs theD-Mart supermarkets chain, today posted a 65.18 per cent jumpin its net profit at Rs 191.02 crore for the quarter endedSeptember 30.

The company had reported a net profit of Rs 115.64 crorein the corresponding quarter a year ago.

Its total income in the quarter under review stood at Rs3,529.47 crore, up 26.65 per cent, against Rs 2,786.77 crorein the year-ago period, Avenue Supermarts said in a BSEfiling.

For the half year period ended September 30, 2017, thecompany's net profit grew by 56.3 per cent to Rs 366 crore, ascompared to Rs 234 crore a year ago.

Its total revenue for the first half of this fiscal stoodat Rs 7,106 crore as compared to Rs 5,431 crore during theperiod.

Avenue Supermarts listed on the stock exchanges with ablockbuster listing in March this year, making RadhakishanDamani — the founder of the company and a low-profile investor— a part of India's richest 20 club.

At present, the company operates 136 stores inMaharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana,Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, NCR, Punjab andChhattisgarh. PTI SVKMKJ.
