New Delhi, Oct 14 (PTI) Top BJP leaders, including PrimeMinister Narendra Modi and party chief Amit Shah, met heretonight to finalise the party candidates for the HimachalPradesh assembly polls, scheduled to be held on November 9.
The party's Central Election Committee (CEC) deliberatedon the names of probables to contest elections for the 68-seatassembly, for over two hours, and a list of candidates islikely to be announced tomorrow, a party leader said.
Two-time Himachal chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, whoalso attended the meeting, and Union minister J P Nadda, amember of the CEC, are being seen as the two most likelychoices for the post of chief minister, with the latter beingconsidered a favourite because of his clean image andproximity to the party's central leadership.
However, party has not yet named any chief ministerialcandidate.
The filing of nomination is scheduled to begin fromOctober 16 and conclude on October 23. PTI KR KNDTIR.
