New Delhi, Nov 11 (PTI) Debt-laden telecom operatorReliance Communications today posted a consolidated loss of Rs2,709 crore in the second quarter ended September 30, 2017.

The company had registered a profit of Rs 62 crore inthe same period a year ago.

This is the fourth straight quarter of loss for thecompany.

Total income of the Anil Ambani-led firm declinedby 48 per cent to Rs 2,667 crore in the reported quarter fromRs 5,142 crore in the corresponding period of the previousfiscal.

RCom, which is on the verge of shutting its voice callservice, witnessed a decline in revenue from its both Indiaand global operations.

The India operations of the company recorded a lossbefore tax and financial cost of Rs 1,669 crore as compared toprofit of Rs 611 crore during the same period a year ago.

The finance cost of the company, which is reeling under adebt of around Rs 45,000 crore, increased to Rs 1,149 croreduring July-September 2017, as compared to Rs 825 crore a yearago.

Shares of RCom on Friday closed at Rs 14.05 a unit, down6.33 per cent, on the BSE. PTI PRS DPMKJ.
