Ghaziabad, Oct 10 (PTI) Over 40 shops sellingfirecrackers have been sealed by the district administrationin Ghaziabad in accordance with the Supreme Court orderbanning their sale in the Delhi-NCR region till November 1, anofficial said.
The apex court yesterday permited the sale offirecrackers only from November one, 12 days after Diwali.
Ghaziabad District Magistrate Ritu Maheshwari saidlicenses which were issued earlier have been suspended now andno new license would be issued.
The sub-divisional magistrates concerned and the citymagistrate have sealed over 30 firecracker shops and godownsin Loni, 10 in Modi Nagar and five in the city, she said.
Strict action will be taken against any sale offirecrackers in the district, Maheshwari added. PTI CORR DPBBSA.
