New Delhi, Oct 27 (PTI) A Delhi Police head constable wasarrested for allegedly demanding a bribe for giving a cleanchit to a shopkeeper in a case, the police said today.

Police said a woman filed a complaint with the PublicGrievances Cell (PG) of south district, alleging that her sonwas using a fake passport.

The Mehrauli shopkeeper is the woman's son from her firstmarriage and she did not get along with him. She filed acomplaint alleging that he made a passport using forgeddocuments, they said.

The head constable, who is posted at the PG Cell,demanded Rs one lakh from the shopkeeper and later reduced theamount to Rs 25,000 for giving a clean shit to the shopkeeper,the police said.

The victim approached the Delhi Police's VigilanceBranch. Today, the complainant met the head constable at thePG Cell office in Hauz Khas.

The police personnel accepted the bribe money of Rs 6,000from the complainant, said RK Jha, additional commissioner ofpolice (Vigilance).

The head constable was arrested and the bribe money wasrecovered from him, the official said. PTI SLB ASKASK.
