Maharashtra government has said that nearly 80 lakh beneficiaries of the scheme were removed after verification and expiry of e-KYC deadline, drawing sharp criticism from the Opposition.
The talks at Matoshree come days after Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray forged an alliance, with the NCP (SP) pressing for a united Maha Vikas Aghadi front ahead of the January 15 civic elections.
Reports in a section of media have also claimed Patil has resigned as the state NCP (SP) president and that his party colleague and MLC Shashikant Shinde will succeed him.
The incident took place during the Sharad Pawar-led party's 'Shivrajya Yatra' in Badnapur here on Sunday. Patil was accompanied by Lok Sabha MP Amol Kolhe and MLA Rajesh Tope.
In the Madha and Beed constituencies also, around 48,000 and 54,000 votes went respectively to candidates with the trumpet symbol, the NCP(SP) leader said.
