The Afghan defence ministry posted on X that it had carried out "airstrikes" in Balochistan and northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, that it said caused casualties among Islamic State group members.
According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), the earthquake occurred at 7.04 pm IST. The epicentre was located in Afghanistan at a depth of 215 kilometres.
The talks began last week in the Chinese city of Urumqi following an invitation by China, in an effort to stop the conflict that began between the two countries in February, leaving hundreds dead.
