CHENNAI: St Bede’s AIHSS defeated Govt Hr Sec School by eight wickets in the final of the TSN T20 cricket tournament on Sunday.

 India’s Test cricketer S Badrinath gave away the prizes.

Brief scores: Govt Hr Sec School (Pudur) 90 in 17.2 overs (M P Prithivineal 34; L Sathyanarayanan 3/10; Srivignesh Rao 2/16; M Sharukh Khan 2/8) lost to St Bede’s AIHSS 91 for 2 in 15 overs (M Sharukh Khan 48 no). MOM: M Sharukh Khan. Man of the Tournament: M Sharukh Khan (St Bede’s). Best Bowler: J Jinojohn (Govt HSSS). Best Fielder: T Yugaviyas (Govt HSSS).

Nikhil, Swetha winners

S Nikhil and Swetha Steffi won the senior boys and girls title in the city school table tennis tournament, organised by Inspiration Table Tennis Institute on Saturday. S Nikhil of BVM beat S Siddharth of VM 3-2 in the boys final, while Swetha of Montford overcame H swathi of PS Senior 3-0 in the girls title clash.

Other Results: Final: Boys: Sub-Junior: AK Aravind (BVM) bt M Sathyanarayanan (Hindu SSS) 3-1; Junior: Aniruth Balaji (AMM) bt M Abilash (PSBB-N) 3-1.

MOP clinch Overall Title

MOP Vaishnav College for Women bagged the “Dr Sivanthi Adityan Overall Rolling Trophy”  in the VASPO 2012 on Saturday.

Turtles, Dolphin win

Turtles (515 pts) and SDAT Dolphin Swimming Academy (122 pts) won the overall team championship titles in group 1-4 and group 5-8 respectively in the 6th Dolphin Tamil Nadu State Short Course Swimming Championships held here on Sunday. Dr B Chandra Mohan, Commissioner of Labour, Govt of TN gave away the prizes.

Selvadurai excels

Selvadurai with a gross score of 155 won the open section in the TNGF–Cosmo golf tournament. Dr Selvaraj was the runner-up with a gross score of 168. In the handicap category, R Sanjay Kumar bagged the gold division with a nett score of 148. D Vasu came second with a nett score of 150. The silver division was won by H K Krishnamurthy with a nett score of 141. SP Sharma finished second with a nett score of 143.
