Chennai: Karthick’s ton helps Vijay seize edge

KB Arun Karthick’s 120 enabled Vijay CC to gain a lead of 31 runs over Globe Trotters on thesecond day of the fourth round of the First Division League of the TNCA at Pachaiyappa’s College grounds.

This was Arun’s third ton in four league matches. Vijay were 296 for 5 stumps, with K Shri Vasudeva Das’ remaining unbeaten on 51.

Rovers beat Aruna

M Prabhu’s 4 for 28 and match haul of 10 for 60 and Prashant’s 5 for 42 fashioned Jolly Rovers’ ten-wicket victory over Aruna CC at IIT-Chemplast grounds.

Earlier, C Hemantkumar’s ton helped Rovers get the lead. N Einstein also chipped in with a well made half century for Rovers. R Rohit’s effort of 7 for 38 went in vain as Aruna batsmen failed to capatalise on his good work.
