Tamil Nadu Sailing Association’s sailors impressed in the practice race of the Indian International Regatta at the Chennai Port on Tuesday. TNSA sailors dominated and missed out only the second place in the Optimist fleet.
TNSA trainee Vishnu Sujeesh staved off resistance from club-mate Jayalakshmi, whose courage helpedd her finish third after CESC Pune’s Vishnu Saravanan. However, she would rue spilling her early lead. Thereafter, local sailors dominated the races. First, Nicholas finished ahead of Ravindhar and Suraj emerged third in the laser 4.7 fleet before Ganapathy and Varun Thakkar won the 29er fleet, followed by the Varsha Gautham-Aishwarya Chezhian pair and Patrick and Hussain Bhavnagarvala duo.
