Amrita Vidyalayam & GK Shetty Vivekananda Vidyalaya emerge victors

CHENNAI: Amrita Vidyalayam (Nallampalayam, Coimbatore) and GK Shetty Vivekananda Vidyalaya (Ambattur) won the girls’ and boys’ titles of the CBSE Cluster VI kabaddi tournament, held in the former’s branch in the city.  Jains Vidyashram and Vivekananda Vidyalaya (Vyasarpadi) were the runner-ups in the two categories. Fifty-one teams participated in the event.
The trophies and medals were given by Justice S Baskaran, Mr. M.Manoharan (CBSE observer) and Br. Vinayamrita Chaitanya (Amrita Vidyalayam (Chennai) correspondent).

Medium pacer RS Jaganath Srinivas’s 3/27 and useful contributions by spinners S Kishan Kumar (2/40)  and S Ajith Ram (2/52) helped Tamil Nadu bundle out Vidarbha for 193 and bag a lead of 93 runs on the second day of their Cooch Behar Trophy U-19 Group C League round at the IC–Guru Nanak College grounds. Earlier, S Lokeshwar’s century enabled TN to post a challenging total.

Grove CC secretary no more
TNCA president N Srinivasan and the organisation’s members expressed their grief on the passing away of R Mukund, senior club secretary of Grove Cricket Club and Grand Prix Cricket Club and former member of various selection committees of the TNCA.
Gokula Krishnan shines
An all-round display by K Gokula Krishnan (3/78 and 82 no) helped Venkat Cricket Club beat Dorairaj Memorial Cricket Club by two wickets and five balls to spare in their TNCA Fifth Division A Zone league match.

Lecture series
The Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (Sriperumbudur) organised a lecture titled “leading in times of Uncertainty” as a part of a monthly lecture series conducted by them called “Aakanksha Lecture Series”. The lecture was delivered by Shri Arun Krishnamurthy, founder of the Environmentalist Foundation of India.
