While the dazzling and extravagant IPL openingceremony at the Salt lake stadium Wednesday caught the fancy of all and sundry,it was a case of sour grapes for the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), withmany of its members and associates giving it a miss.
Its demand for tickets was also not met, which leftofficials grumbling.
The CAB has 121 units under its wings and a section of themembers boycotted the opening gala after being denied tickets.
"We were completely kept out of the loop for theopening ceremony," CAB joint secretary Biswarup Dey said, adding that veryfew car park stickers were provided by Red Chillies Entertainment, theorganisers of the show.
