Our batting a cause for worry: Moody

Despite having a formidable bowling attack, highflying Sunrisers Hyderabad suffered a crushing defeat against against a struggling Kolkata Knight Riders in their IPL match here at the Eden Gardens on Sunday. In the post-match press conference, Sunrisers coach Tom Moody was candid enough to admit that his team was outplayed by KKR. Excerpts of his comments:

On the defeat

We were just outplayed. But that’s the nature of T20 cricket. We displayed poo defensive skills. We got to give credit to Morgan for his special innings. It was his day today.

On the batting failure

Considering the fact that were without Shikhar Dhawan, we are reasonably comfortably placed. We had a class player in Dhawan. Certainly batting will look a lot better with his return. We have some young faces  and they are learning constantly on the job. We got to trust them. Overtime, they will deliver. We just got to keep the faith on the younger guys.

On Perera’s costly over

I don’t want to single out one over. Our defensive skills were not as sharp that could be. We need to learn from the mistakes in our next match.
