Pakistan Team Awarded Bonus for Beating Australia

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan cricket team was awarded a $144,000 bonus for defeating Australia 2-0 in the test series for the first time in 20 years earlier this month.

Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shaharyar Khan announced the win bonus on Thursday with captain Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan receiving $14,700 each.

Younis scored three successive centuries in two test matches while Misbah smashed hundreds in both innings of the second test, including a record-equaling fastest century off 56 balls.

All 16 members of the team were given bonuses of $4,900 with Ahmed Shehzad and Sarfraz Ahmed getting an extra $2,450 each for their centuries in the first test.

The PCB also awarded $3,400 to all nine members of the coaching staff led by head coach Waqar Younis and batting coach Grant Flower.
