Jadeja Cleared for Selection

CHENNAI: Ravindra Jadeja, who has been nursing a shoulder injury, has been cleared for World Cup selection by Team India physio Nitin Patel. The decision has been communicated to the national selectors, who will meet in Mumbai on Tuesday, to pick the 15-man squad for the event Down Under.

The all-rounder, who came back from Australia, has been spending time at Sri Ramachandra Medical College in Chennai — the Indian cricket board’s official rehabilitation centre. Though Jadeja has not bowled or taken part in practice, he is learnt to have cleared the test and can officially resume bowling from January 7.

Jadeja in all likelihood will fly to Australia for the later part of the tri-series featuring the hosts and England, which is scheduled to start on January 16. It was also learnt that Axar Patel will be kept in reserves for the tri-nation tournament.
