Standing behind the makeshift goalposts when others played football, the fast bowler didn’t bowl when the rest took part in nets sessions. A team source later said, “Shami is fine. He was rested and didn’t play football because he isn’t good at it.” With 17 wickets from six matches, Shami is the third on the list of top wicket-takers. He had skipped the second match with a knee injury.
