Former New Zealand opener Peter Fulton retires

He was known affectionately to fans and teammates as Two Meter Peter because he stands 1.98-meters (6-foot-5) tall.

WELLINGTON: Former New Zealand opening batsman Peter Fulton, who once scored centuries in both innings of a test match against England, has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, aged 38.

Fulton played 23 tests for New Zealand between 2006 and 2014, scoring 967 runs at 25.44. He made two hundreds, both in the same match at Eden Park in 2013 when he scored 136 in the first innings and 110 in the second.

He also played 49 one-day internationals from 2004-09, making a ton against Sri Lanka in 2006, as well as 12 Twenty20s, between 2006 and 2012.

He was known affectionately to fans and teammates as Two Meter Peter because he stands 1.98-meters (6-foot-5) tall.
