Former Indian captain and wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Dhoni today equalled the Sri Lankan cricketing legend Kumar Sangakkara's record of 99 ODI stumpings.

Dhoni reached the feat in the second ODI match between India and Sri Lanka at Kandy's Pallekele stadium, when he stumped Lankan opening batsman Danushka Gunathilaka.

Dhoni has played 298 ODIs so far, while Sangakkara's career lasted for 404 ODIs.

After Sangakkara and Dhoni, the third name in the list of most ODI stumpings is that of former Sri Lankan cricketer Romesh Kaluwitharana.
