CHENNAI: Unbeaten centuries by M Vijai Bharath Ram and R Karthik Adithya enabled AG’s Office to post 245/2 in 61.2 overs in the second innings of their TNCA Senior Division league Plate Group match against TSC at the VB Nest grounds on Wednesday.


AG’s Office got five points for bagging the first-innings lead. Vijai and Karthik added 212 runs in 43.1 overs.

At IC-Guru Nanak: UFCC (T Nagar) 259 & 129/2 in 33 ovs (Hari Nishaanth 57) drew with Grand Slam 281 in 96.3 ovs (L Suryapprakash 83; R Divakar 5/91, J Vignesh 4/115); Points: Grand Slam 5 (10), UFCC 2 (7). At VB Nest: AG’s Office 274 & 245/2 in 61.2 ovs (M Vijai Bharath Ram 103 n.o, R Karthik Adithya 107 n.o) drew with TSC 256 in 78.2 ovs (MUB Sriram 72, Saurabh Kumar 91; Vignesh Kannan 4/85, AC Prathiban 3/68); Points: AG 5 (7), TSC 2 (7).

Rahman stars in Vellore win
MA Atheeq ur Rahman’s unbeaten 102 paved the way for Vellore to thrash Tiruchy by seven wickets in the quarterfinals of the TNCA inter-district U-23 tournament.


Brief scores (quarters): Tiruchy 178 in 48.5 ovs (Amit Sharma 3/29) lost to Vellore 182/3 in 41.4 ovs (MA Atheeq ur Rahman 102 n.o.), Villupuram 141 in 50 ovs lost to Salem 142/3 in 33.4 ovs (S Guru Raghavendran 67).


Loyola triumph
Loyola won the TA Ponnusamy Asaariyar Memorial South-India inter-collegiate basketball tournament held in Tiruchengodu. The event was organised by GRD Sports Club.


Result (final): Loyola College 88 (Hariram 28, Surya 18) bt Jeppiaar Institute of Technology (Daniel 21, Muin Bek 20).


Chess trials
