Multan ka Sultan's Birthday: Harbhajan Singh labels Virender Sehwag 'modern-day Viv Richards'

Virender Sehwag turned 40 today and his former teammates have taken to Twitter to post their birthday wishes.

Sehwag, well-known for his aggressive batting at the top of the order, was labelled modern day Viv Richards by his former teammate Harbhajan Singh as he posted his birthday wish on Twitter.

Other players who wished him include Sourav Ganguly, Suresh Raina, VVS Laxman, Ishant Sharma.

Sehwag played 104 Test matches for India and scored 8586 runs at an average of 49.34 with a strike rate of 82.23. On course, he notched 26 centuries including two triple-hundreds. 

He was given the title of 'Multan ka Sultan' after scoring 309 runs against Pakistan at Multan, becoming the first Indian batsman to score a triple-hundred

In ODIs, he scored 8273 runs in 251 matches at an average of 35.05 and with a strike rate of 104.33.

He was at his explosive best in T20s, as in 19 matches, he plundered 394 runs at a strike rate of 145.38.
