CHENNAI: Left-arm spinner B Aaditya’s 6 for 21 helped Tamil Nadu to bundle out Kerala for a paltry 75 on the first day of the south zone Vijay Merchant Trophy Under 16 tournament played at ICL – Sankar Nagar cricket grounds, Tirunelveli. In reply, the hosts were comfortably placed at 95 for 1 with R Vimal Khumar still batting on 55 at stumps.

Suhail shines
Riding on off spinner AH Mohamed Suhail’s 6 for 11, Vivekananda College thrashed IIT-Madras ‘B’ by 64 runs in the IIT-Madras inter-collegiate T20 cricket tournament.

Hockey umpires exam
Chennai Hockey Association will conduct hockey umpires examination in November for umpires who are below 25 years and technical officials who are below 35 years of age. Those who are interested can contact B Gnanasambandan,  S Navaneethakrishnan or MS Anna Kumar. The examination fee is `100 and entries close on October 31.
