NEW DELHI: The India U-17 football team produced a spirited display to hold fancied Chile to a 1-1 draw in the final match of its Torneo de 4 Naciones Tournament tour in Mexico City.

Chile, who finished runners-up to Brazil in their South American U-17 Championships to qualify for the World Cup, scored in the 40th minute after India's defence failed to clear the ball.

India's Nongdamba Naorem found the equaliser in the final 10 minutes of the game. Two minutes later, the Blue Tigers were reduced to 10 men after Aniket was given a marching order last night.

Preparing for the upcoming U-17 World Cup, India is on an exposure trip.

India had a disappointing start to the tournament as host Mexico thrashed them 5-1 in their opening game before Colombia, who are in Group A alongside India in the World Cup, went on to win 3-0.
