CHENNAI: Riding on Sandeep’s 22 points, Loyola College, Chennai, defeated Satyabama University 69-43 in the inaugural match of the first South India inter-collegiate basketball tournament for the Jeppiaar Trophy, conducted by Jeppiaar Institute of Technology, Sriperumbudur. Dr N Marie Wilson, director, Jeppiaar Institute of Technology, inaugurated the tournament.

Results: Loyola 69 (Sandeep 22, Santhosh Mani 14) bt Satyabama University 43 (Sarath 15, Manoj 10).

Globe Cricket Club post victory
Arjun Mylvahanan’s 55 was the feature of Globe Cricket Club’s 25-run win over Universal Recreation Club in a Fifth Division C Zone league match of the TNCA.
Brief scores: V Division C: Globe Cricket Club 214 in 50 ovs (PR Venkatsubramanian 5/64) bt Universal Recreation Club 189 in 48 ovs (Arjun Mylvahanan 55; R Raghunaathen 4/38).
