Hassan Basha sounded the board twice for the winners, and Machaiah once. Vinodhan, who netted SAI’s consolatory goal via a penalty corner, was adjudged Man of the Match.

BPCL win
BPCL beat EIL 4-0 in the first round of the 28th inter-unit PSPB chess tournament, organised by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, in Chennai. Eleven teams from nine public sector units are participating in the tournament.

S Sathish Kumar’s 100 helped FSCA thrash Lucas TVS by 125 runs in their TNCA-Thiruvallur DCA League Third Division match. S Aravinda also chipped in for the winners with an unbeaten 72.

TDCA selection trials
Thiruvallur District Cricket Association (TDCA) will conduct selection trials for various age groups at Gojan Engineering College (Edapalayam, Redhills) from April 14 to 23.
