Indo-Pak war martyrs remembered

HYDERABAD: Vijay Diwas was observed in memory of the personnel from Armed Forces who laid down their lives during the Indo-Pak war in 1971, during a ceremony held at the War Memorial in Parade Grounds in Secunderabad here today.

The victory of India over Pakistan was also commemorated on the occasion.

Air Force Academy commandant Air Vice Marshal KJ Mathews of Dundigal, Infantry Division GOC Major General Rajesh Singh, DMDE Director Rear Admiral Dinkar Sharma, MCEME Deputy Commandant Major General AV Subramanian and several other senior defence officers attended the ceremony and paid tributes to the martyrs.

Several serving and retired defence personnel laid wreaths at the memorial to commemorate the sacrifices of the personnel of the Armed Forces.
