HYDERABAD: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has decided to go in for an appeal to the Supreme Court against its recent judgment making Hyderabad a free zone in regard to implementation of GO No:610.

Party president K Chandrasekhara hopes to win the legal battle and has urged all Telangana people to maintain peace and harmony in the state on the issue.

Two days ago the Supreme Court had pronounced a judgment in a case filed by the Andhra Pradesh Police Officers Association seeking to declare Hyderabad a free zone for Hyderabad city police recruitment.

The Supreme Court declared Hyderabad as free zone for police recruitment.

Chandrasekhara Rao held a meeting with several advocates and discussed the issue at Telangana Bhavan here today. He also spoke with wellknown advocates in Delhi over phone before deciding to go in for an appeal on the judgment.

Addressing a press conference at `Telangana Bhavan’ the TRS president alleged that with malintentions the state government misguided the Supreme Court on the issue and engaged a Gujarat advocate for that purpose.

He said that presidential orders and 610 GO categorically declared that Hyderabad cames under Zone-6.

After the TRS agitation from 2001 to 2008 the government issued notices to the Hyderabad city police by declaring Hyderabad a free zone.

He said that it was a very small issue and they definitely win the case in the Supreme Court.

He appealed to the TRS cadre and supporters not to react to the Supreme Court’s judgment and said that would not be applicable to recruitment in other departments or sectors.

``I don’t want Telugu people to live with tensions. Every one should live in a healthy atmosphere,’’ the TRS chief said.
