KARIMNAGAR: The reports that Karnataka ministers Gali brothers may have a tacit understanding with rebel Kadapa MP Y S Jagan seem to gain some credence if the import of the statements made by some state BJP leaders today is any indication.
Senior BJP leader and former union minister Ch Vidyasagar Rao said in Karimnagar district that Jagan’s exit from the Congress might well prove to be gain for the Opposition in general and the BJP in particular. The Congress ministers, who would be taking the oath of office tomorrow stating that they would discharge their duties without fear or favour, would, in fact, fear people as well as Jagan, he quipped. Chittoor BJP general secretary and a close aide of Gali Janardhan Reddy, Narasimha Reddy said Jagan’s moves - resignation from the Congress and floating a new party - would benefit the BJP in the Rayalasema region. BJP senior leader and former Union minister B Dattatreya, however, dismissed as rumours and speculation the reports that Jagan had the blessings of the BJP.
Speaking to mediapersons here today, he said that there was no such development and that he was not aware of any such move. The present crisis in the state government was the making of the Congress and fallout of the hereditary politics of that party.
