HYDERABAD: Opposition NDA will raise the Telangana demand during the monsoon session of Parliament and would ask the UPA to fulfil its promise of initiating steps for its creation.
The assurance was given by leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj to a delegation of T leaders. The delegation led by senior BJP leader Bandaru Dattatreya and TJAC convenor Kodandaram met Swaraj and apprised her of the situation in the state.
“She assured us that the issue will be highlighted in Parliament. She also told us that the BJP would expose the Congress’ motives on the issue,” Dattatreya told newsmen later. The delegation would meet NDA convener Sharad Yadav on Thursday. Kodandaram said they also met CPI general secretary AB Bardhan and senior leader Raja. “The CPI leaders also said that they would force the government for a discussion on T in the Parliament,” Kodandaram said. He said they also met T Congress leaders camping in Delhi.
