KADAPA: Coming down heavily on the state government and the Congress party’s attitude towards former chief minister YS Rajaksekhara Reddy, his brother and former minister Vivekandanda Reddy said if the party takes criticising YSR as the main agenda during the bypoll campaign, he will oppose it publicity and explain to people the ‘greatness’ of YSR.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday, he said all the top leaders had praised YSR and described him as a role model and today those very same leaders want the party to criticise him, which will only prove counter productive. If the party goes ahead with the propaganda against YSR, party workers in the district will not support it, he added.

Viveka said whatever decisions taken when YSR was chief minister, they

were collective decisions of the Cabinet and for everything it should be collective responsibility. YSR was instrumental in bringing the party to power twice in the state. If the party tries to erase his image from the minds of people, it will not bode well to it.
